BOTOX Cosmetic facial treatment

What Is BOTOX® Cosmetic?

BOTOX® Cosmetic, from Allergan Aesthetics, is a prescription injectable that temporarily reduces targeted muscle activity to soften certain expression lines. It treats the muscular component of these lines rather than adding volume to the skin.

It is FDA approved for the temporary improvement of moderate to severe forehead lines, frown lines between the eyebrows, crow’s feet, and vertical bands connecting the jaw and neck in adults. During your consultation, we will discuss which treatment areas are appropriate for you and available at our practice.

Your Consultation Comes First

A beautiful treatment plan begins with a conversation. Our nurse injector will review your goals, facial movement, medical history, medications, and previous injectable treatments to help determine whether BOTOX® Cosmetic is appropriate.

What to Expect

Treatment involves a series of small injections into selected muscles. The injection portion is typically brief, although your appointment also includes time for assessment, questions, and aftercare instructions.

For forehead lines, frown lines, and crow’s feet, changes may begin within one to two days, with full results developing by approximately 30 days. Results may last up to four months, although individual experiences vary. Your provider will help establish an appropriate maintenance schedule.

Part of Your Personalized Aesthetic Plan

Expression lines, skin texture, pigmentation, and skin laxity have different causes and may benefit from different treatments. Your personalized plan may include BOTOX® Cosmetic alongside skincare, facials, or other appropriate services, with timing guided by your provider.

Have a Preferred Injectable Brand?

BOTOX® Cosmetic is our currently stocked neuromodulator. If you have used another brand or would like to explore an alternative, please mention it during your consultation. Additional products may be ordered when clinically appropriate and available; advance arrangements may be required.

Important Safety Considerations

BOTOX® Cosmetic is a medical treatment and is not appropriate for everyone. Do not receive it if you have an allergy to its ingredients or another botulinum toxin product, or an infection at the intended injection site.

Tell your provider about all medications, previous toxin treatments, muscle or nerve conditions, swallowing or breathing difficulties, and pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Possible side effects include injection-site discomfort, headache, and eyelid or eyebrow drooping. BOTOX® Cosmetic carries a boxed warning about distant spread of toxin effects. Serious symptoms can occur hours to weeks after injection. Seek immediate medical help for difficulty swallowing, speaking, or breathing.

Dermal lip filler treatment

What Are Dermal Fillers?

Dermal fillers are injectable gels used to add fullness or soften certain wrinkles and folds. Our Revanesse® fillers contain hyaluronic acid, a substance naturally found in the body.

Fillers and BOTOX® Cosmetic serve different purposes: fillers add volume, while BOTOX® Cosmetic temporarily reduces targeted muscle activity. Your consultation helps determine which approach, if either, suits your concerns.

Our Revanesse® Collection

Revanesse® Versa

Revanesse® Versa is an FDA-approved hyaluronic acid dermal filler for the correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds—the lines extending from the sides of the nose toward the corners of the mouth—in adults age 22 and older.

Revanesse® Lips™+

Revanesse® Lips™+ is FDA approved for lip augmentation in adults age 22 and older. It contains lidocaine to help reduce injection-related discomfort.

If you would like to explore lip enhancement, our nurse injector will discuss your desired fullness and assess your natural lip shape and proportions to develop an appropriate plan.

Designed Around Your Features

Your consultation includes a discussion of your goals, medical history, medications, allergies, and previous aesthetic treatments. Our nurse injector will assess the area you would like to address and explain the recommended product, anticipated outcome, risks, and cost.

A measured approach may include gradual enhancement over more than one appointment. The amount of filler recommended depends on your anatomy and treatment goals.

What to Expect After Treatment

Fullness may be visible shortly after injection, but early swelling can affect the appearance of your results. Allow time for the treated area to settle before assessing the outcome.

Temporary swelling, bruising, tenderness, and redness can occur. Your provider will give you product-specific aftercare instructions and explain when to follow up.

Filler results are temporary. How long they last depends on the product, treatment area, amount used, and individual response. We will discuss realistic expectations and maintenance during your consultation.

A Coordinated Approach to Aesthetic Care

Fillers address different concerns than treatments for skin texture, pigmentation, or laxity. When appropriate, we can develop a broader plan that includes skincare or other MedSpa Raphael services.

Treatment sequencing matters. Tell us about recent or planned facials, lasers, IPL, peels, and other procedures so your provider can establish suitable spacing.

Have a Preferred Filler?

We currently stock Revanesse® Versa and Revanesse® Lips™+. If you have a preferred filler or would like to discuss another option, let us know during your consultation.

Additional brands may be ordered when clinically appropriate and available. Product selection and scheduling will be confirmed before treatment.

Is Dermal Filler Right for You?

Filler is a medical procedure that requires careful screening. Share your complete health history, including allergies, bleeding disorders, medications, skin conditions, and any history of cold sores.

Revanesse® fillers should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Active infection or inflammation in the treatment area and certain allergies or medical conditions may also prevent treatment.

Important Safety Information

Along with swelling and bruising, filler risks include infection, allergic reactions, lumps, and delayed inflammation.

Rare but serious complications can occur if filler enters a blood vessel, including tissue damage, blindness, or stroke. Seek immediate medical attention for vision changes or stroke symptoms. Unusual pain or whitening of the skin during or shortly after treatment also requires immediate assessment.

Your consultation includes a review of product-specific risks and safety information. Results vary.
